Haley and Paul: engagement

Ahh, I love engagement shoots! It's so easy to take pictures of two people completely in love. Haley and Paul were the cutest couple! They both go to Johns Hopkins, and met in a Bible study..the same way my husband and I met! They are getting married next summer, yay! We did our photoshoot near Druid Park in Baltimore and it turned out beauitfully. We were able to catch the most beautiful rays of sunshine.

Hancock Family

This photo shoot was particularly special to me. When Zabrina contacted me to set up a session, she mentioned that her son had been in the NICU. I wasn't too surprised since I know many babies who've made stops in the NICU, but what I didn't know was that Colt had been born at 22 weeks 5 days and had spent more than 4 and half months in the ICU. As a NICU nurse I spend every day working to help save these tiny babies, but I usually only get to see them to the point of discharge from the hospital. It brought me so much joy to see Colt running, laughing, pointing out the doggies and birds, and acting in every way like a typical 2-year-old. I know how hard he must have fought to survive, and it was truly a joy to be able to capture this precious child.
